BCCI ombudsman D.K. Jain revised Indian cricketer Sreesanth’s life ban to that of seven years, which is expected to be uplifted during September 2020. As per the sources, Sreesanth is extremely optimistic and eager for his comeback in the game.

On September 13, 2013, the cricketer was banned for life by the BCCI due to the IPL spot-fixing scandal that shocked the fans worldwide.

Sreesanth tweeted a heartfelt note, wherein, he said, “I will never ever cheat cricket even when I am playing a friendly match. I don’t ball easy ones or try to lose. So pls get that right with everyone. I’m completely free of any charges nd anything nd now gonna represent the sport I love the most. I will give my very best to.”

Kerala cricket team coach Tinu Yohannan emphasized that the cricketer will only be selected on the basis of merit and his fitness. However, the Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) has not received any formal communication regarding the removal of the ban from the BCCI yet . “Sreesanth has shown the keenness to play by training hard and keeping himself fit,” Kerala coach Tinu Yohannan told ESPNcricinfo.

The 37-year-old has been training rigorously with the Kerala U-23 during the COVID-19 2020 lockdown. Sreesanth is determined to ensure that he is able to represent India internationally once again by assuring the fans that he will give his best in every single delivery as a bowler going forward.

“After a long wait, I can play again but there is no place in the country to play now. “I even planned to organize a local tournament in Kochi this week so that I could step out onto the field, but decided against it looking at the risks involved, as the number of coronavirus cases in Kerala is increasing,” Sreesanth said.
