The Board of Control for Cricket in India on Wednesday announced the annual Player contracts for India women’s cricket team for the period from October 2020 to September 2021.
The BCCI retained 19 players in total, T20 skipper Harmanpreet Kaur, vice-captain Smriti Mandhana and Poonam Yadav have been retained in Grade ‘A’.
One-Day International skipper Mithali Raj is in Grade ‘B’ along with veteran pace bowler Jhulan Goswami. Three players, opener Shafali Verma, Punam Raut and Rajeshwari Gayakwad, have been promoted to Grade ‘B’ from Grade ‘C’.
This year’s retainer list has been trimmed down to 19 from 22 last year, with Ekta Bisht, Veda Krishnamurthy, Dayalan Hemalatha and Anuja Patel missing out and 17-year-old Richa Ghosh included for the first time.
Here’s the full list of centrally contracted women cricketers of BCCI for the year 2020-21:
Grade A (Rs 50 Lakh): Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana, Poonam Yadav.
Grade B (Rs 30 Lakh): Mithali Raj, Jhulan Goswami, Deepti Sharma, Punam Raut, Rajeshwari Gayakwad, Shafali Verma, Radha Yadav, Shikha Pandey, Taniya Bhatia and Jemimah Rodrigues.
Grade C (Rs 10 Lakh): Mansi Joshi, Arundhati Reddy, Pooja Vastrakar, Harleen Deol, Priya Punia and Richa Ghosh.
