West Indies were 189/8 when they started the Day 3 of the first Test match of the India Tour of West Indies 2019 that is being played at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, North Sound, Antigua. On the third day, West Indies lost their remaining 2 wickets for 33 runs before the lunch, Shami and Jadeja took one wicket each.

West Indies were bowled out for 222 runs, though West Indies skipper and Cummins gave a tough time to visitors for the ninth wicket. Jason Holder and Miguel Cummins added 41 runs for the 9th wicket and played 105 deliveries between them. No West Indies batsman crossed the 50 runs mark, several batsmen got a start but couldn’t convert it into a big score. For India, Ishant Sharma took five wickets, Jasprit Bumrah one wicket, and Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammed Shami took 2-2 wickets each.
Before the lunch, India had to face the West Indies bowlers for crucial 4 overs, which India survived for no loss and 14 runs. After lunch, India lost Mayank Agarwal at 30 and India also lost KL Rahul and Pujara in quick succession. At this point, India were 80/3, after losing their top three.
In the third session, Virat Kohli with Ajinkya Rahane piled up the runs without losing the wicket and ended the day with a score 185/3, a lead of 260 runs over West Indies. Before the stumps, Virat Kohli was on was batting on 51 and Ajinkya Rahane was batting on 53. It was a not good day for West Indies bowlers, they looked ineffective for Kohli and Rahane, though they were dominating at the start of the inning. For West Indies, Roston Chase took two wickets and Kemar Roach took one wicket.
