SunRisers Hyderabad on Tuesday confirmed that the fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been ruled out of the ongoing season of Indian Premier League (IPL 2020) due to thigh injury during their game against Chennai Super Kings.
Sunrisers Hyderabad named Prithvi Raj Yarra as the replacement for the remaining season. The 22-year-old left-arm pacer from Andhra Pradesh was with the Kolkata Knight Riders last season.
“Bhuvneshwar Kumar is ruled out of #Dream11IPL 2020 due to injury. We wish him a speedy recovery! Prithvi Raj Yarra will replace Bhuvi for the remainder of the season. #OrangeArmy #KeepRising,” Sunrisers Hyderabad tweeted.
Prithvi Raj Yarra had only played two matches in IPL. Prithvi Raj Yarra debuted against Sunriers Hyderabad in the IPL 2019 at Hyderabad, where he took the only wicket of David Warner in the match. Prithvi Raj Yarra was later released by the Kolkata Knight Riders.
The 22-year-old left-arm pacer has picked 39 wickets in 11 first-class matches at an average of 21.51. In 11 List-A, the youngster has sent back 15 batsmen to the pavilion and looks an exciting prospect going ahead in the season.
