RCB team has decided to honour the COVID-19 warriors by printing a slogan ‘My COVID Heroes’ at the back of their official 2020 IPL jerseys as a symbol of tribute.

The 2020 IPL is a 53 days event that will commence from September 19 till November, and will be held across the major cities in the UAE — Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and Dubai. However, the event was initially scheduled for the month of March.

“The RCB team will proudly don a tribute jersey with the message ‘My COVID Heroes’ both during training & matches during the #Dream11IPL in honour of all the Real Challengers who have helped the world during these uncertain times,” tweeted the RCB team.

The captain of the team Virat Kohli also honoured the pandemic warriors in his recent statement, wherein, he said, “I am truly proud to wear RCB’s ‘My COVID Heroes’ jersey as a sign of solidarity and gratitude to everyone who is right now going the extra mile to support the community at large.”

He further added, “They have batted day and night and fought on the field, and I am honoured to call them my heroes.”

As per the Deccan Chronicle, “RCB will also be supporting the GiveIndia Foundation by donating the proceeds from the auction of the jerseys that players wear during season’s first RCB match,”
