Mumbai Indians (MI) named Luke Wood as a replacement for the injured Jason Behrendorff for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2024).
Luke Wood will join MI for the base price of Rs 50 lakh.
Jason Behrendorff returned 14 wickets in 12 games in the previous season of the IPL and was a core member of the MI’s bowling group.
Left-arm pacer Luke Wood has played five T20Is for England and has eight T20I wickets against his name. In addition, Wood has also played two ODIs for England.
The 28-year-old pacer, Luke Wood has played 140 T20 matches with 147 wickets under his name with an economy-rate of 8.45.
Luke’s latest exploits came in the Pakistan Super League (PSL 2024), where he finished as the highest wicket-taker for Peshawar Zalmi with 12 wickets.
Luke Wood is the winner of the T20 Blast medal two years in a row, and he also has a County Championship hundred under his belt.
