The next head coach of the new boys in the Indian Super League (ISL) East Bengal is likely to be ex Liverpool legend, Robbie Fowler. Former India international player Renedy Singh is also linked with an assistant manager post with the Red and Gold army. And Bruto Da Costa will remain part of the East Bengal’s coaching set up.
Robbie Fowlers playing career is filled with glories and success in the shirts of the Anfield giant. He has played for the teams like Liverpool FC, Manchester City and Leeds United. He has appeared more than 250 times playing in the Premier League, the top flight of English football.
After his playing days were over, he joined Muangthong United as a player cum coach. From there, he joined the former club Liverpool FC as a club representative and was later promoted to Academy staff role.
After that, he joined Australian club Brisbane Roar for a stint as a manager. Under his guidance, Brisbane finished fourth in the league table.
East Bengal will be playing the Indian Super League for the first time this season along with arch-rival Mohun Bagan who merged with current ISL champion team ATK to form ATK Mohun Bagan FC.
In an interview to XtraTime Bangla, East Bengal’s one of director Hori Mohon Bangur stated that, now that the announcement is done, he gave an assurance that by the end of the month, East Bengal club will reveal who will be the coach. And he will be the one who decides who he wants to sign for the club.
