Ahead of the upcoming season of the Indian Super League (ISL 2024-25), Chennaiyin FC announced the departure of their star midfielder Rafael Crivellaro on Tuesday.
After a brief stint with Jamshedpur FC, Crivellaro returned to the Marina Machans for a second spell in 2023, where he proved pivotal as he spearheaded their charge towards the ISL Playoffs after a hiatus of three seasons.
The 35-year-old showcased his playmaking skills, registering seven assists in the league—second only to Madih Talal—thanks to his expertise in set-pieces. In addition to his assists, Crivellaro demonstrated his scoring ability by netting four goals in 22 appearances.
Though his second tenure was relatively shorter, Crivellaro’s impact remained undiminished. His tally of 11 goal contributions stood as a testament to his enduring influence, culminating in him being Chennaiyin FC’s leading contributor for the season.
In total, Crivellaro made 49 ISL appearances for the Marina Machans, tallying 12 goals and 16 assists.
