BCCI statement on IPL 2020 COVID-19 testing
BCCI has released the official statement on IPL 2020 COVID-19 testing after reports of several members of Chennai Super Kings testing positive.
In the statement, BCCI said, “Accordingly, upon landing in the UAE, all the participants have followed a mandatory testing and quarantine programme. Total of 1,988 RT-PCR COVID tests was carried out between August 20th – 28th across all participant groups in the UAE. These groups include Players, Support Staff, Team Management, BCCI Staff, IPL Operational team, Hotel and ground transport Staff.”

Suresh Raina to miss IPL 2020
Suresh Raina will miss the 13th edition of Indian Premier League (IPL 2020) and had returned to India citing the personal reason.
Suresh Raina won’t be available for entire IPL 2020 season, confirmed team CEO, KS Viswanathan. Chennai Super Kings have offered complete support. Though the exact reason for Raina’s return is not clear.

IPL 2020 schedule announcement delayed
The BCCI was expected to release the formal schedule of IPL 2020 before the end of this week, considering the tournament is to start in about 20 days. With the latest reports coming in, several members of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have tested positive for the COVID-19. At least 10 members including a current India limited-overs bowler and several members of its staff – have tested positive for COVID-19 in Dubai on Friday, although the exact numbers are to be confirmed.

the reports are surfacing stating that the BCCI is planning to divide the IPL 2020 into two legs due to local protocols that‘s why there is a delay in the schedule.
There are strict COVID-19 protocols in Abu Dhabi and also travel restriction between two emirates. While entering Abu Dhabi, one has to undergo mandatory rapid tests. Only after a negative test one can cross the border. SO BCCI is planning to divide IPL 2020 in two legs, Dubai leg, Abu Dhabi leg, and playoffs in Dubai.
